I studied fine art at Doncaster College of Art and the University of Central Lancashire, graduating with honours in 1980.

In 1984, I gained a Certificate in Education and taught fine art, textiles and art history for over 20 years at Lancaster & Morecambe College, the Adult College, Lancaster and Alston Hall, Longridge.

About the work

"Watching me paint, someone once said that it must be wonderful seeing the world through my eyes. It was a lovely compliment and true - it is wonderful!

The desire to express my wonderment of nature is easy, living where I do – by the shores of Morecambe Bay, surrounded by the beautiful landscapes of the Lake District, the Forest of Bowland and the Yorkshire Dales.

I witness first-hand the fast-moving weather fronts that sweep over the coast and countryside and explore the resonance of those moments using colour to convey my inner response to the landscape. "
