My work is held in The House of Lords Permanent Art Collection, in the Head Office of Cadbury and in private national and international collections in Europe, America, Australia and New Zealand.
I am represented by galleries in the North West and take part in exhibitions in the region and across the UK, with shows in N. Yorkshire, Newcastle, Edinburgh and London. In 2004, I represented artists from the North West of England in the Summer Exhibition in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden.
I studied fine art at Doncaster College of Art and the University of Central Lancashire, graduating with honours in 1980.
In 1984, I gained a Certificate in Education and taught fine art, textiles and art history for over 20 years at Lancaster & Morecambe College, the Adult College, Lancaster and Alston Hall, Longridge.
I am available to give talks to art associations and social groups.
About the work
Living beside the sea in Heysham, I witness first-hand the fast-moving weather fronts that sweep over the North West, illuminating or casting shadows over the coast and countryside. It is these dramatic changes in light that excite and inspire me, along with my love of colour. I am seeking to express, not the outer reality, but rather an inner response to the landscape and the process of painting itself.data-editable
